The Niagara River Lions Foundation is a charitable organization dedicated to promoting health and community engagement amongst the youth and families in the Niagara Region.
The Foundation’s mission is centred on growing the game, strengthening communities, and creating positive impact both on and off the court.
Through fundraising partnerships and community programs, the Foundation works to increase access to basketball while advancing the goals and missions of the charity’s and organizations that we work in tandem with.

BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Michelle Biskup
Michelle is the President of the Niagara River Lions and a key leader in the growth and success of the organization. With over a decade of experience with the team, she has been instrumental in shaping the River Lions’ culture, overseeing business operations, strengthening community partnerships, and expanding the team’s impact across Niagara. She joined the organization during its NBL Canada era and helped guide the transition into the Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL) in 2019. After serving as Vice President for four seasons, she was appointed President in 2024 and has been part of the River Lions’ back-to-back championship seasons in 2024 and 2025. In 2025, she was named St. Catharines Sportsperson of the Year, recognizing her leadership, dedication, and contributions to sport and the community. She continues to be a driving force behind the River Lions’ continued success both on and off the court.
Ted Boldt
Born and raised in the Niagara Peninsula, real estate has been a passion of Ted's since he was a teenager. He purchased his first house at the age of 18, followed a year later by a triplex as his first investment property. Since then, he and his wife, Kristine, have owned numerous properties, including a nine-unit apartment building. Together, they have enjoyed renovating, landscaping, and improving their properties, earning three Trillium Awards, including the prestigious Mayor's Award. He also spent 20 years working in his family's swimming pool business, including 10 years as owner and operator. Under his leadership, Boldt Pools and Spas built on its impeccable reputation as one of the largest and most respected pool companies in the Niagara Region. Today, he is proud to bring his experience, knowledge, and passion to real estate, helping clients achieve their real estate goals with confidence. As a long time season ticket holder and partner, Ted is proud to be part of the River Lions Foundation.
Dave Merritt
Based in St. Catharines, Ontario, David Merritt is a Senior Commercial Account Manager at BDC with a strong background in commercial lending, financial management, and client relationships. With previous experience at Peters Construction Group and Meridian Credit Union, David brings expertise in credit analysis, account management, cash flow management, and portfolio management. His knowledge and experience help support businesses and organizations in achieving their financial goals and long-term success.
